rear bumper fix

When I took possession of this car, the rear bumper was sagging on one end.  I'm pretty sure it must have been backed up into something.  Anyway, the bumper I guess was replaced or did very nicely in taking the hit and flexing back into shape.  However, the connecting ledge on the body for the bumper to attach to had been bent downward, thus leaving nothing for the bumper to do, but sag.

I loosened a few screws holding the bumper in and took off the rear tail light assembly and bent the "ledge" back to it's upright 90 degree angle and bam, the bumper was attached and no more sag.

This car has over 150,000 miles, but still I want it to look half decent.  The body looks pretty good, the interior needs major cleaning, the glass is good all around.  I put some old Tshirts over the front seats.  :)

I'm thinking this is the base model, maybe not the LSI model.   The XFI, if it's a smaller motor, does not sound like I'm missing anything.  The 3 cylinder is already a dinky motor, can't imagine going for an even smaller 3 cylinder.

I'm anticipating my first mpg showing as soon as I fill up again, but this car is in no hurry to drink up the gas, LOL.  That's cool. :)

I got a Haynes manual dirt cheap off Amazon.  It should arrive tomorrow, I'm hoping it will help me fix the engine surging up and down when the car is stopped.
