While I'm enjoying the fantastic mileage I'm getting, a trip into Dallas yesterday was an eye-opener and nothing new to you who are with me in sub-compacts and compacts. Two 18 wheelers were on each side of me. I pushed my Metro a little harder to get past the behemoths, you know truck drivers have a hard time seeing cars that flank them, so my chances in the Metro weren't any better. Then you have the SUV drivers or the FAST LANE drivers no matter what lane they're in. Just because you're bigger and faster does not mean you have to wield the mighty sword all the time and does not give you the right to sit on their tail just because you can. I put in some suction cupped shades on my back window today, a nice trick that mutes bright lights behind you at night. My back window is tinted but with a car right on your rear bumper, sheeesh. |
